THIS INDENTURE, made the Twenty ninth day of August in the year One Thousand Eight
Hundred and Fifty One between Garrett C. Freeman, Jane W. Freeman, Sophia M. Freeman,
Howard C. Freeman of the county of Loudoun and commonwealth of Virginia. James A. Suddath
and Elizabeth his wife N. F. Harris, Henry F. Harris and Susan his wife, Brown Suddath and Ann
Sophia His wife, Araminta Jane Harris and Sanford Harris, of the county of Culpeper and state
aforesaid of the one part, and Lewis F. Mankins and James A. McFarland of the county of
Loudoun and state aforesaid of the other part.
Witnessed that in consideration of the sum of Three Thousand and Eighty Four Dollars and
Twenty Five Cents, the said parties of the first part do grant unto the said parties of the second
part their heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county of
Loudoun formally known by the name of Soldiers Repose containing Four Hundred and Seventy
Four and a Half acres of land adjoining the land of said Lewis F. Mankins, Charles T. Stevens,
Alexander D. Lee, Nathaniel S. Iden & James Holtsclaw, The said tract being which descended to
the said Garrett C. Freeman, Jane W. Freeman, Sophia M. Freeman, Howard C. Freeman children
of Nathaniel C. Freeman deceased, and to said Elizabeth [former Elizabeth Harris], N. F. Harris,
H. F. Harris, Ann Sophia [former Ann Sophia Harris], Araminta Jane Harris and Sarah Ellen Harris
[who is since deceased unmarried , in testate and without children leaving her father said Sanford
Harris as her heir]. Children of Nancy Harris deceased who was a daughter of Nathaniel C.
Freeman deceased the same having been purchased by said Nathaniel C. Freeman in his lifetime
from Burr W. Harrison and William H. Gray executor of Julia A. Wilson to whom the said tract
was in part allotted by a decision of the circuit superior court of law and chancery for the county
of Loudoun entered on the second day of July 1838 in the cause of Julia Wilson vs. the heirs of
Russell B. Harrison to which decrees reference is hereby made and also to the papers in the cause
of Harrison Vs. Freeman, now pending in the same court for further and more particular
information in reference hereto. And the said parties of the first part for themselves their heir's
executors and administrators receptively above ------ as follows vis. That they will warrant
generally their respective potations of the said tract of land hereby conveyed; that they
respectively have the right to convey the said land to the said granites that the said grantors shall
have quiet possession of the said respective portions of land free from all in cumbrances and that
they will execute such further assurances for the whole of said land, at the expense of the grantees
as may be required and they have done no act to in cumber their respective portions of said land.

I Alexander D. Lee a justice of the peace for the county aforesaid in the state of Virginia do
certify that Garrett C. Freeman, Jane W. Freeman, Sophia M. Freeman & Howard C. Freeman
whose names are signed to the writing above bearing date on the twenty ninth day August 1851
have acknowledged the same before me in my county aforesaid. Given under my hand this first
day of September 1851.

County of Culpeper to wit. I John F. Latham a justice of the peace for the county of Culpeper
aforesaid in the state of Virginia do certify that James A. Suddeth, N. F. Harris, Henry F. Harris,
Brown Suddeth, Arminta Jane Harris and Sanford Harris whose names are signed to this writing
above bearing date on the twenty ninth day of August 1851 have Acknowledged their names
before me in my county aforesaid. Given under my hand this 4th day of September 1851.

I John Latham & Charles Wager justice of the peace for the county of Culpeper in the state of
Virginia do certify that Elizabeth the wife of James A. Suddeth, Ann Sophia the wife of Brown
Suddeth & Susan E. the wife of Henry F. Harris whose names are signed to the writing above
bearing date on the twenty ninth day of August 1851 personally appeared before us in the county
aforesaid and being examined by us privately and apart from their husbands and having the writing
aforesaid fully explained to them the said Elizabeth and the said Ann Sophia and said Susan,
Acknowledged the said writing to be their act and declared that they had willingly executed the
same and do not wish to retract it. Given under our hands this 4th day of September 1851.

This deed from Garrett C. Freeman and others to Lewis F. Mankins and was this day received in
said office duly acknowledged and admitted to record.
